FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
New web service helps UK book buyers find the best price.
Pershore, Worcestershire, UK (PRWEB) October 24, 2003 - Book-Worm have released a new service on their website that allows UK book buyers to find the best deals when purchasing multiple books on-line. By using the 'Comparison Cart' visitors can easily find the best stores to use, and find out if they can get the best deal by splitting their order between multiple stores. Book-Worm is the first comparison website to fully handle orders for multiple items and return the best deal.
Book-Worm (http://www.book-worm.info) is a UK book price comparison site that was launched at the beginning of October 2003. The site allows visitors to enter details of any book they would like to purchase and the site then searches the major UK bookstores to find the cheapest store. This process typically takes under four seconds to complete. The stores currently searched include Amazon UK, Blackwells, Country bookshop, Pick a Book, Student Bookworld, Swotbooks, Tesco Books, The Book Place and WH Smith.
The new 'Comparison Cart' feature works in a similar manner to the shopping cart found on many ecommerce sites. Once a visitor has found the book they are interested in they can add it to the cart and continue searching for the next book. When all the books they are interested in have been added to the 'Comparison cart', the user can then use the cart to quickly find the price of purchasing the books from different stores. By selecting which store they will buy each book from, the visitor can instantly see the total value of their order(s) without having to go back and forth between multiple stores.
The 'Comparison Cart' also includes a 'calculate best deal' link that will compare every possible method of purchasing the books and will show the visitor the cheapest store, or stores, to purchase from.
"Isn't that the same as purchasing each book from the cheapest store?"
Not always. Due to the various rules each store uses to calculate delivery costs, it can sometimes be beneficial to not always go with the cheapest book price. For example buying two books for 15 each from store A and getting free delivery (total=30) would be better than buying one book for 14 from store B and paying 2 delivery and buying the other book for 13 from store C and paying 1.50 delivery (total=30.50). Other comparison sites either work on just the cheapest book price or just find the cheapest store to purchase the whole order from, whereas Book-Worm will inform you if you would be better off by splitting your order between multiple stores. Anyway, that's enough maths; the 'Comparison Cart' will do all the calculations for you!
