BOULDER, Colo.,(PRWEB) November 1, 2003 - Shade Tree Software, LLC is proud to announce the release of ProDiag version 1.06. ProDiag is a PalmOS(r)-based vehicle diagnostic tool for Volkswagen and Audi vehicles. ProDiag allows professional and home mechanics to check their cars for trouble codes, monitor their engine in real-time as well as make tuning adjustments; features normally found only on expensive factory tools. More than just a generic OBD-II scan tool, ProDiag also offers advanced features, such as automated testing and data and fault code logging.

ProDiag version 1.06 includes many improvements over version 1.05. ProDiag now allows you to connect to electronic control units (ECUs) only found in newer cars. It also has more fault codes to support newer cars. In addition to PalmOS version 3.x and 4.x supported in previous ProDiag releases, version 1.06 will run on PalmOS 5.x based PDAs such as the Tungsten T series made by PalmOne.

Another, much requested feature, found in version 1.06 is the ability to perform PIN Enabling, also known as 7-digit Secret Key Code coding.

A host of other improvements and feature enhancements makes version 1.06 the best ProDiag release to date. Mike and Norm Babcock, who
finished first in class and 10th overall in the 2003 Car and Driver One Lap of America race had the following to say, "ProDiag was instrumental in keeping our Team Iron Butt 2000 Audi S4 running at its best during the race. ProDiag made checking the electronics in the car as quick and easy as checking tire pressure."

Steven Eiche, Shade Tree Software's co-founder said, "We are very excited about version 1.06. Mechanics love the compactness, ease-of-use and feature-rich capabilities provided by ProDiag, not to mention the affordable pricing."

ProDiag version 1.06 is available directly from Shade Tree Software, LLC on their web site, http://shadetreesoftware.com/ or from distributors. The ProDiag system is priced at $249, which includes an advanced microprocessor based vehicle adapter, manual and software on CD-ROM. Upgrades to 1.06 for existing ProDiag customers is available at no cost.
