Oracle Database Customers Migrate Automatically to Java and IBMs DB2 With a Single Click Using in2j

Quintessence Systems, the only vendor providing 100% automated software technology for migrating Oracle legacy applications into Java, today announced that its in2j migration tool has been extended to support the automated migration of Oracle business logic into Java code and DB2-compliant SQL ready for deployment with IBMs DB2 database platform.

BERKSHIRE, UK (PRWEB) November 5, 2003 -- Quintessence Systems (http://www.in2j.com), the only vendor providing 100% automated software technology for migrating Oracle legacy applications into Java, today announced that its in2j migration tool has been extended to support the automated migration of Oracle business logic into Java code and DB2-compliant SQL ready for deployment with IBMs DB2 database platform.

Quintessences tool in2jŪ, a veteran of more than 50 million lines of migration to Java, now offers a fast, lightweight and completely automated solution for customers who want to deploy their complex Oracle business logic together with a DB2 database. Migrating Oracle business logic into Java for the DB2 platform creates powerful, flexible and scalable applications for IBMs increasingly popular database.

Following collaboration with IBM during 2003 the latest release of in2j now migrates both server-side PL/SQL and Oracle SQL code into Java and DB2-compliant SQL respectively. in2j also generates all of the necessary interfaces required to deploy the Java components together with the DB2 database.

DB2 competes aggressively with the Oracle database on both price and features" commented Elton Barendse, CEO of Quintessence Systems. The crunch for customers has always been the enormous manual effort required to migrate their large, complex, proprietary Oracle applications into a flexible architecture before they can leverage DB2 and get a return on their investment. With in2j weve distilled the process of migrating an entire portfolio of Oracle business logic into Java for DB2 down to a single mouse click".

in2j implements all of the major proprietary Oracle packages and built in functions in native Java. in2j provides the flexibility to deploy the complete Oracle legacy functionality in either a Java Application Server or within the DB2 database. Following an in2j for DB2 migration there is no further requirement to license the Oracle database.

in2js unique ability to automatically generate Java and DB2-compliant SQL from Oracle legacy code serves a growing market of customers who are striving for flexible, standards-based development and deployment" added Barendse. While in2j is naturally suited to customers wishing to make a permanent transition to DB2, in2j also provides Independent Software Vendors with a fast, affordable means to offer their customers an alternative, highly sought-after database solution".
