A new portable camera and computer system captures upsets and problems in high speed industrial processes that are too fast for the human eye. This helps maintenance engineers to set-up machines and diagnose problems quickly, increasing productivity. Applications include packaging machinery in food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
(PRWEB) November 6 2003--Conmark Net, Inc is now shipping the packaging industry version of its high-speed video diagnostic system. Developed from Conmarks multi-camera system used in the paper industry, ‘EC Video is a briefcase-sized unit that captures video clips of production upsets or mis-timed operations. These can be reviewed in slow motion for root cause analysis and improved machine set-up.
The system continuously records video to disk on a 3-hour loop and, when triggered, captures video clips of up to a minute in length. The trigger can come from an external source such as a photo-cell, PLC, or inspection system; or it can be manual; or it can be generated from changes in the video itself.
The system is simple to use, and supports lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives by reducing MTTR (mean time to repair), generating reports on downtime by product line and by shift, and by allowing video clips to be emailed to machine vendors for remote diagnosis and technical support.
