Frustrated with the disruptions to the rhythm of her work, San Diego based watercolorist Roni Sumer searched for a system of organizing her paints and color mixes. Finding no suitable product on the market, she developed Roni Sumers ColorConductor Color Mix Organizer to document, store and retrieve paint and color mixes quickly and easily. The organizer is now available to watermedia artists.
(PRWEB) November 7 2003--San Diego watercolor artist Roni Sumer announces the release of a product to help watermedia artists organize their paints and color mixes. Roni Sumers ColorConductor Color Mix Organizer provides watermedia artists the ability to document, store and retrieve their color mixes quickly and easily. The organizer has three elements. The Palette & Tube ColorConductor cards document the paint straight from the tube while the Mix ColorConductor cards allow the artist to document their special mixes with ample space for writing formulas and notes. ColorConductor cards are printed with a special ink on 140# watercolor paper. The ink allows the paper to absorb the paint naturally so that the artist gets an accurate feel for how the paint and mixes will look and act. Both cards include a place for strong and weak mixes and a transparency test. The final element is a 6 ring binder that permits secure storage of the cards and provides easy portablility. Cards are housed in archival plastic sleeves inside the binder with 12 tabbed dividers for the color groups. The ColorConductor can be safely and easily taken Plein-Air painting, to workshops and classes so the artist can immediately document and file new colors and mixing techniques. The artist can then retrieve their color mixes quickly giving more time to paint and eliminating disruption to the artistic flow and rhythm of the work.
The inventor, Roni Sumer, grew up in the shadow of Oberlin College of Fine Arts in Oberlin, Ohio. Starting at an early age she attended programs in the visual and performing arts offered by the college. She attended the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio taking classes in both performing and visual arts. The performing arts won out but she never lost her love for the visual arts and continued to develop her skills while building a modest acting career. In 1996 she discovered watercolor painting and has since devoted all of her energies toward building her award winning body of work. Roni paints daily at her studio in the North County of San Diego, California. Her subjects are taken from the real world including landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, figures, flowers, and other natural settings.
