French Wine Explorers, an American tour company specializing in luxury wine and culinary tours of France, announced today its exciting 2004 tour schedule. The company will be offering the ultimate in luxury hotels and chateaux and Michelin-starred restaurants, with tours featuring the most exclusive and prestigious wine estates in France. The schedule includes ten departures to Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhône Valley, Provence, and the Loire Valley.

Among the highlights of the 2004 season: Bordeaux Prestige Program, the ultimate splurge for the Bordeaux connoisseur, including VIP tastings at all five First Growth chateaux (Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Margaux, Haut-Brion, Mouton Rothschild) and the most legendary estates of Pomerol, Sauternes and Saint Emilion; Cooking and Wine in Provence, a week of hands-on cooking classes with noted chefs including Michelin 2-star chef Edouard Loubet, wine tasting classes, winery visits and sightseeing, with luxury accommodations at the 18th century Chateau de Gignac; Burgundy and Champagne, a week-long exploration of the Côte dOrs finest estates and Champagnes most famous producers; and Northern and Southern Rhône, featuring a black-tie dinner dance with the winemakers of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

The tours are fully escorted by Lauriann Greene-Sollin and Jean-Pierre Sollin, two certified sommeliers (one American, one French) who live in France and take a fun, relaxed approach to wine. Their extensive French wine industry connections open the doors to Frances best wineries for their guests, providing them an exclusive insiders view not available to tourists.

The average group size of 10-12 guests keeps the tours intimate and ensures personal attention. All tours include deluxe, air conditioned transportation, luxury hotels with private en suite bath, gourmet meals, premium wines, all wine tasting, sightseeing, and services of a bilingual wine expert throughout. Prices range from US$2,995 to US$4,595 per person, double occupancy, for these land-only packages.

French Wine Explorers also offers private, custom-designed wine tours for groups of four or more guests wishing to choose their own dates and itinerary, accompanied by a wine expert. Corporate programs are also available, as well as special private tours for wine and gourmet clubs and wine and restaurant professionals.
