Fun with Languages is proud to announce the release of "Fun with Numbers" another multilingual video in the "Fun with series" that enables young children to learn speak and read in more than one language.

Miami Lakes, FL (PRWEB) November 14, 2003 -- Fun with Languages© is proud to announce the release of "Fun with Numbers another multilingual video in the "Fun with series" that enables young children to learn, speak and read in more than one language. Fun with Numbers teaches young children to count from 1-20 in two languages at the same time.

Studies have proven that young children, who know more than one language, develop a larger vocabulary in their native language and possess a better foundation for acquiring other languages. They exhibit enhanced cultural understanding, and improved communication skills. The benefits of learning a second language are clear; studies have also shown that learning a second language, as an adult is more difficult. In fact, the earlier a child is exposed to a second language, the easier learning it becomes. For parents who want their children to get a head start on a bright, bilingual future, the Fun with Languages© Company offers a fun and entertaining solution.

Learning a foreign language at a very young age can clearly benefit children's reading abilities and hopefully parents and educators can help to provide the resources for this to happen
The videos are designed to simultaneously introduce young children to numbers, words and a second language. Puppets, art, animation and rhymes stimulate young minds. The videos emphasis on repetition and participation encourages children to interact with the video. Chanting and rhythmic play can increase a child's vocabulary. In fact, the videos encourage parents grandparents and teachers to play or sing along with their children.

"We added new features in Fun with Numbers including animation and two new original songs,” states Rick Hinds, Managing Director. Our new original songs add a special dimension to the video, "Counting Hop" reinforces the numbers and Different like you” showcases the wonderful unique differences in all of us. This was a natural transition for us to continue the FUN learning experience and provide a teaching tool for parents, teachers and grandparents."

Fun with Numbers is designed as an educational tool for young language learners. We wanted a product that would entertain and educate, not something that you would put on and leave the room,” states Lizann Hinds, President. The best learning is when a child is receptive, stimulated and involved in the process. The feedback has been incredible.

Studies on Bilingualism include:

"Learning a foreign language at a very young age can clearly benefit children's reading abilities and hopefully parents and educators can help to provide the resources for this to happen," said psychologist Ellen Bialystok, Ph.D., of York University and author of the new study published in the May issue of the American Psychological Association's (APA) journal Developmental Psychology.

All children have a first language, which is any language learned before age 3. A language learned after age 3 is considered to be a second language. When a child younger that 3 years of age learns two (sometimes more) languages at the same time, this is referred to as simultaneous bilingualism. A child who learns a second language after age 3 goes through sequential bilingualism, which involves a different process of learning from simultaneous bilingualism.
Learning Language and Loving It-- (Weitzman, 1992)

Fun with Languages©, the company behind the Fun with Numbers videos, is a family-owned company. Owner Rick Hinds, Lizann Hinds and mother-in-law Ynes Cruz developed the bilingual videos and workbooks after realizing that they could not find any educational and entertainment products to fulfill the need. Many parents, like the Hindss, desire to raise their children in a bilingual family in order to prepare them for an increasingly bilingual society. So with his mother-in-law, an elementary school teacher and ESL chairperson at her Florida school, Mr. Hinds created the videos.

Currently, the videos are available in English/Spanish, English/French, and English/Italian. A DVD containing all three versions will be available soon.
