Industry Leaders Target Sacramento

The Worker's Compensation Crisis

(PRWEB) November 24 2003--Insurance industry leaders upset with Californias skyrocketing Workers Compensation rates have targeted Sacramento. On Friday, during a public teleconference, a ballot initiative was delivered to the State House last week. Six hundred sixty-five California employers joined the teleconference.
The higher rates are threatening to destroy the small- to mid-sized industry base that is the pillar of the states economy. Leonard Silverman, an attorney, stated, If we do not control the excessive workers' compensation costs, we will lose so many employers we will not have the tax base to run the state.” This year, California employers will spend $29 billion on Workers Compensation costs. The meteoric costs are expected to climb higher with no end in sight.

Thomas Hagerman, president of the Independent Business Coalition, filed The California Jobs Protection Act” with the Secretary of State. I am taking this issue to the streets because Sacramento will not stand up to the Special Interests.”

Rudi Weinberg, CEO of Pavlo, Weinberg & Associates, Insurance Brokers, has no faith the legislature will act on the Schwarzenegger Workers Comp plan. Special interest groups targeted the governors plan before the ink had dried.”

Brent Heurter, the founder of ClearComp, who is pushing for reform of Californias Workers Compensation laws, issued a challenge to all insurance companies, Stop the fraud and the abuse. Lets work together to slash Workers Compensation costs.” Heurter announced the release of a free book called How to Save 30% off Your Workers Compensation Bills.” Employers can register for the book at www.workcompemergency.com Heurter has vowed to stop the raids on California businesses by neighboring states by containing costs for employers.

Offering an optimistic view on the Public Initiative was James Moore, a risk management consultant, "The California Workers Compensation system will rise from the ashes in the coming year.”

The call is available for free download to California employers. It offers emergency strategies for containment and reduction of stratospheric Workers Compensation costs. The website www.WorkCompEmergency.com will also offer employers to ask questions directly to industry leaders by emailing Questions@WorkCompEmergency.com
