The sealant optimizes the capabilities of automated backbedding technology, reducing labor requirements and increasing output so dramatically that the payback period for equipment can be as short as nine months under certain conditions.
Dow Corning InstantGlaze is a patented formulation that delivers all the longevity and flexibility of a traditional silicone sealant without squeeze-out problems and cure hold times that can slow production and increase labor costs. It has a pot life of 24 hours and an open time up to 15 minutes, but develops instant green strength so there is no delay in fabrication. The sealant gives immediate aggressive adhesion to vinyl, wood, glass, aluminum, painted or treated wood, high performance paint and fiberglass. The clear formulation also improves the appearance of finished units.
Dow Corning works with industry-leading equipment suppliers to offer fabricators pre-engineered pump and X-Y glazing table combinations that deliver maximum benefits of Dow Corning InstantGlaze.
