VAMS (Victims Against Modeling Scams) Organizes to Fight Rampant Modeling/Talent Industry Scams and Fraud -

A group of victims of Wilhelmina Scouting Network and Trans Continental Talent, over 200 strong, have organized a group called VAMS to fight this large industry scam as well as bring industry change and challenge other scams head on.

April 30th, 2003 (PRWEB) - Victims Against Modeling Scams (VAMS) has recently been organized to fight against entertainment "talent scouting" and other industry scams.

Brought together by a shared experience, these victims have teamed up with legitimate industry experts and consumer advocacy groups to tackle modeling and talent scams.

Wilhelmina Scouting Network aka Trans Continental Talent, formerly known as Options Talent Group, Emodel and Edge Talent have been under fire for several years from the overwhelming victim complaints of fraud and deception. Over 35 media reports and undercover investigations have been done on this company, the most recent by Dateline on April 18th, 2003.

Mitchell Davis, one of VAMS's main spokepersons proclaims, "without a doubt, they are the most aggressive and disturbing scam in the industry. Not only do they target consumers all over the US and in several locations internationally, they also commit a large degree of employment fraud through Monster.com, by placing over 1,500 jobs ads at a time and paying them little to nothing while teaching them to defraud consumers. The complaints from consumers, "talent scouts" and some employees alike are numerous. VAMS is set to expose every part of this scam and seeks to get justice for all those they have hurt."

This is just the start for VAMS. The education of the public about their rights as consumers, informing the public about ethical industry practices and the building of relationships with media, governmental agencies, politicians and law enforcement that can expose, crack down and bring change in an industry fraught with scams and fraud.

If you would like to learn more about VAMS first effort, please visit the web site dedicated to exposing the Wilhelmina Scouting Network scam at http://www.transconscam.com and to helping victims take action and seek relief.

VAMS welcomes new members but warns that they will be put through a strict screening process to ensure the security of its current membership.

Over the coming months, VAMS will build a robust and comprehensive website to address these scams in totality and actively pursue measures to deal with them, while continuing to educate the public and assist victims.
