Remote management of networked devices such as PCs, servers and embedded systems reduces downtime and maintenance expense, lowering Total Cost of Ownership.
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) – Argon Technology announces the release of Client Management Services (CMS) software, a network booting solution that helps IT professionals lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), while increasing system availability and productivity. CMS provides network administrators with a framework to use utilities and tools so they can effectively deploy and manage client PCs, servers, laptops, embedded systems and other networked devices from a central location. This eliminates the travel time needed to repair software problems with networked devices, and frees administrators to concentrate on other issues.
CMS features easy-to-use wizards for creating pre-Operating System (pre-OS) boot images to perform client management tasks such as BIOS updates, critical file backup, registry backup, virus scanning and software updates.
It is also capable of performing unattended Windows OS deployments over a LAN. CMS offers an alternative solution to Microsoft Remote Installation Services, allowing the complete unattended deployment of all current versions of Windows.
CMS meets the growing demand for cost effective solutions that address rising PC ownership costs,” says Khalifa, Director of Sales at Argon. Higher productivity, increased system availability, and added data protection all combine to drastically lower total cost of ownership.”
Most corporate PC products today are equipped with a Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) boot ROM that allows them to boot from the network. By letting network administrators establish a network booted pre-OS connection, CMS makes it possible to remotely load and execute desktop management tools before the local operating system (OS) is loaded from the client PCs hard drive.
This provides a distinct advantage over tools that perform system tasks only after the local OS is loaded. If theres a problem with the local OS, those tools will not work and the PC is down until a technician visits the site to troubleshoot the problem. This downtime directly affects the productivity of the end user and the technician.
CMS can exploit Remote Wake Up enabled clients to initiate client management tasks or OS deployments even when a client PC is powered off. By sending a RWU command to one or many client PCs immediately or at a pre-scheduled time, these tasks can be automatically carried out during off-hours, avoiding user disruptions.
CMS complies with Wired for Management (WfM) specifications in its RWU and PXE support and complements Argon Managed PC Boot Agent (MBA) PXE boot ROM technology.
Argon Client Management Services software is available for download from Argons website at a cost of $299US. The basic product includes a server license and twenty-five client licenses, with additional client licenses available for purchase.
