Medusa To Launch New Website For Cult US Sit-Com Will & Grace

Medusa Appoints Egovision And Aitch Creative To Deliver A New Website For Popular US Sit-Com Will & Grace

-----Begins----

London, UK (PRWEB) July 23, 2003 -- Film and video distributors Medusa Communications and Marketing http://www.medusastore.co.uk, have handed online strategy, design and development agency Egovision http://www.egovision.com the task to deliver and manage a new website for popular US Sit-Com Will & Grace.

The site at http://www.willandgracestore.co.uk, which took three weeks to deliver by Egovision is to be soft launched on the 23rd of July 2003, and will be kick-started by competitions and promotions that will run until 23 August 2003. It targets fans of the show, which has a particularly large female and gay following.

Debbie Rowland, Marketing Manager at Medusa Communications and Marketing http://www.medusastore.co.uk comments, There was an initial website dedicated to Will & Grace, which had previously only been available from the Medusa Store website http://www.medusastore.co.uk/).

Unlike other Medusa online stores, the new Will & Grace site that Egovision have designed and developed with Aitch:creative http://www.aitchcreative.co.uk, which reflects the fun and quirky nature of the show and features downloads, profiles of the stars, gossip and an image gallery.

Aitch:creative provided all design and visual elements and Egovision built the site in HTML and running on Egovisions Content management System [CMS] and shopping cart software.”

John Lyons, Interactive Director at Egovision explains what was the most challenging aspect of the brief, The site is intended to be more engaging than a standard online store, so defining the content to make available and how it sits within what is essentially a sales-driven site, was crucial for Return On Investment [ROI].”

Rowland, who spent much time with Eric McCormack [Will] when he was over from New York to promote the show and DVD releases adds, We are initially pushing the site with search engine marketing and optimisation, with links from other websites from the Medusa stable. There will also be an email send out to Medusas mailing list for a competition to win one of 10 Season 3 DVDs signed by Eric McCormack [Will].

At this stage we will only be advertising on the Medusa sites. We have print advertising booked in gay, womens and TV / Entertainment magazines, and are planning a national radio campaign that will promote the website address and brand as well.

Eric was fantastic and took an extremely keen interest in the direct and digital marketing and promotion of not only the DVD releases, but the dedicated official Will & Grace e-commerce website also. We were really pleased with his feedback and interest, and are looking forward to him coming across and again when he is able.”
