A Night To Remember - The Authentic Titanic Eleven Course Dinner Event at the Detroit Roostertail.

DETROIT, MI (PRWEB) August 1, 2003 -- On, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2003, approximately 300 guests are expected for dinner at the Roostertail Waterfront Complex at 100 Marquette in Detroit to experience the Last Night on the Titanic”. Passengers who purchase limited tickets will include a pass to the Titanic Artifact Exhibit donated by the new Detroit Science Center (located at 5020 John R, Detroit) for this The Last Day” the exhibit will be open.

The dinner, taken from one of two menus salvaged from the wreckage of the great ship, will include the authentic eleven course meal served to the First Class passengers on what proved to be their last dinner before hitting the iceberg on April 14, 1912. The Last Night on the Titanic”, an elegant fundraiser will begin at 1700 (5:00pm) when Passengers are invited to stroll the outside Promenade deck, enjoy the live music to shop for Victorian items offered by specially chosen fine merchants showcasing period items or have their pictures taken by the photographer on board to capture this moment in time. The first course is scheduled to be served at 19:30. (7:30PM) (Menu on attached flyer)

Passengers will step back in time and experience the grandeur and ambiance of the gilded age when the entire Roostertail is transformed to resemble the first class dinning room of the Titanics maiden voyage. One lucky passenger will go home with The Opal of the Ocean " created and donated by Yanke Designs of Franklin. This treasure has a retail value of $1000.00

There will be a few notable VIPs, including Molly Brown and John Jacob Astor to name a few, who will be seated among the unsuspecting diners. Authentic music of the era for dancing and the guests enjoyment will be provided by The Music Messengers string quartet. In addition to the eleven course dinner, each course will be accompanied by the appropriate wine.

As the evening progresses, there will be warning signs of icebergs in the area. Many thrills and surprises are planned, as history cannot be changed, the collision with the iceberg will take place and guests will be there to experience the intrigue.
               
Guests are encouraged to dress in formal attire of the period and can take advantage of group discounts offered for this event by Suttons Costumes of Waterford. There are still special corporate sponsorship packages available. Limited tickets for Individual First Class Boarding Passes” are $150.00 and include entrance to the Titanic Artifact Exhibit and the complete authentic eleven course gourmet dinner, wine package and live entertainment.

Proceeds go to benefit Independent Opportunities of Michigan, a non profit 501(3) c corporation that helps mentally challenged children and adults live independent lives. ‘Independent Opportunities of Michigan is a non-profit organization comprised of professionals providing consistently high quality services and support to persons with special needs.

On September 7, 2003 the Titanic Artifact Exhibit doors will open for the last time at 11:00AM and close at 5:00PM. Many of the guests of this event will attend dressed in period attire before experiencing the dinner at the Roostertail.

Note: This event was originally scheduled for April 13, 2003. Due to the problems in the Middle East the event was postponed to Sept. 7, 2003 which is the last day the Titanic Exhibit will be open at the Detroit Science Center.
