Richardson, Texas (PRWEB) August 11, 2003 – Novagraph, Inc. announces the release of Chartist 4.2, a comprehensive software application for drawing flowcharts and similar diagrams.
New features include export of diagrams in several standard graphics formats, the ability to create web pages in one step, and a new data exchange format.
Chartist is a fast and compact application for Microsoft Windows platforms. With Chartist you can create, edit, and print flowcharts, organization charts or other diagrams that use similar components. You can easily import graphics created by Chartist into other applications, including word processors, desktop publishing, presentation graphics, and web pages.
Chartist focuses on speed and ease of use. Users can quickly install Chartist and become productive. You can use Chartist effectively right away, set it aside, and come back to it in a month or so and use it again without having to relearn a complex application. Most users need to draw diagrams from time to time, and do not like an over complicated application.
Version 4.2 of Chartist includes several enhancements. You can export Chartist diagrams to several standard graphics formats, including those that are best for desktop publishing, and others that are best for web publishing. Standard formats include PNG (Portable Network Graphics), WMF (Placeable Metafile) and EMF (Windows Enhanced Metafile), VML (Vector Markup Language) and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). The latter two formats are the newer vector languages for web pages. Microsofts VML (Vector Markup Language), requires the current version of Internet Explorer. SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a newer, more powerful format defined by W3C, the international standards group.
These vector formats offer more compact and flexible images in web pages. The Professional Edition of Chartist also supports an XML file exchange format for documents. This textual format provides an open standard for the external creation and processing of Chartist documents by other applications.
Whether you are a businessperson who needs to quickly and easily document your organization's structure, a software developer who needs to commit a program flow to paper, a quality manager, or a student, Chartist provides the tools that you need.
The Standard edition of Chartist is priced at $49.00, and the Professional edition (Chartist-Pro) is priced at $89.00. Advanced features in Chartist-Pro include group editing functions for more complex diagrams, symbol and text rotation, the ability to link or embed objects into symbols as pictures or hyperlinks, a spelling checker with dictionaries for several languages, and support for an XML data exchange file format. Chartist runs on Windows 98, Me, NT4.0, 2000, or XP.
