High Performance, Low Cost 635nm Laser for Red and HeNe Replacement Applications
MILPITAS, CA (PRWEB) August 25, 2003 -– Blue Sky Research, a manufacturer of laser systems, modules and components, announced today that the company is releasing its ChromaLASE 635 laser for both HeNe replacement and red OEM applications. The ChromaLASE 635 is a complete 635nm solid state laser diode module that delivers 25mW output power, with improved beam pointing and stability in a single, compact assembly.
The Blue Sky Research ChromaLASE 635 features a 25mW output laser diode with proprietary beam-collimating optics that generates a circular, diffraction-limited, low-divergence beam. The module includes a thermoelectric cooler and integrated 5V dc power supply, drive and control electronics.
A variable power control operated by a potentiometer on the rear of the module makes power adjustment simple. The cylindrical laser measures 38mm x 158mm, and is designed for direct mounting to circular, square, or standard 44.5mm HeNe laser holders. The ChromaLASE 635 is a complete laser system, requiring no external power conditioning, control boxes, or fan cooling.
We designed the ChromaLASE 635 as the next-generation replacement for todays industry standard HeNe 635nm gas laser,” said Chris Gladding, President and CEO of Blue Sky Research. Performance, reliability and cost are clearly superior to HeNe lasers, as well as most current 635nm diode laser modules. For analytical and biomedical instrumentation, semiconductor metrology, and quite a few other applications, the ChromaLASE 635 is a wise choice.”
The ChromaLASE 635 offers better performance than HeNe lasers. Output power of 25mW is very stable at less than 0.5% over 8 hours, with noise less than 0.25% RMS. Beam pointing is exceptionally stable at less than 25 mrad with beam divergence of less than 1mrad. This performance also comes with solid state reliability, with an MTTF (mean time-to-failure) of greater than 40,000 hours.
Pricing is significantly less than competing HeNe lasers. The ChromaLASE 635 is in full-scale manufacturing now and is available in OEM quantities. Custom configurations are available upon request. For more information, contact Blue Sky Research.
