Sixsmith will be presenting the conference entitled Lies, Spies and Old School Ties”, along with David Bickford, former advisor to MI5 and MI6 to PR, public affair affairs and investor relations delegates on the first day [Tuesday 23rd September 2003] of the PR Showcase.
From 1980-97, Sixsmith was a BBC Moscow and Washington correspondent and Newsnight producer. From 1997-02, he worked as Director of Communications and Press Secretary to Harriet Harman, Alistair Darling and Stephen Byers.
Martin Sixsmith, comments, "Spin is today's hot political potato, and Tony and Alastair have frequently burned their fingers on it. At the PR Showcase, I will be looking at the titanic battle between my two former employers, the BBC and the Government, and trying to explain why Number Ten have failed to learn the lessons from so many mistakes".
