KISSIMMEE, FL (PRWEB) August 29, 2003 -– Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) launches on September 1 a new bi-monthly television series geared toward technology novices and enthusiasts around the corner and around the globe.
Thats IT" – short for Thats Information Technology" – is a 30-minute variety show dedicated to personal computing and the Internet. Increasingly, Americans live and work in an information-based economy that relies on technology to locate, communicate, interpret and store information. By combining KUAs in-depth knowledge of the technology industry with the reach of television and the Internet, the show uses humor to explore the latest innovations in computer hardware and software, technology news, consumer products and more.
‘Thats IT is without a doubt one of the most ambitious and exciting projects to be launched by KUA this year," said KUA President & General Manager Jim Welsh. As we continue to expand the use of technology to serve our customers, we feel an obligation to show them how to use it effectively."
State of the art technology at KUA allows customers to pay their bills online, update account information, check their energy consumption history, report a streetlight outage, calculate their monthly energy consumption, schedule a free home energy audit, check current job openings, or apply for a job.
The first episode of Thats IT" airs on September 1 on Access Osceola, a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week channel available to Bright House Networks cable subscribers in Osceola County. Each episode of the show will air 50 times during its month of broadcast. A complete show schedule is posted on the series Web site at http://thatsit.kua.com. Access Osceola is jointly owned by KUA, the City of Kissimmee, and Osceola District Schools.
In addition to traditional television, Thats IT" is available to viewers worldwide via streaming video on the Web site.
The objectives of this new series mirror those of KUAs own mission statement: to create partnerships with the communities we serve. Delivering on this mission means we continually strive to build those relationships," said Welsh. This, in turn, helps us better understand and respond to customer needs."
Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida's sixth largest community-owned utility serving 61,000 electric, water and Internet customers in five Central Florida counties.
