Electronic Commerce Code Management Association (ECCMA) holds its 4th Annual Conference at Lehigh University

Following a welcome address to be given by Mohamed El-Aasser, Dean of the PC Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science fifteen speakers will deliver presentations on the development and implementation of a new Standard descriptive language for collaborative commerce and supply chain management.

BETHLEHEM, PA (PRWEB) September 11, 2003 – The Electronic Commerce Code Management Association (ECCMA) will be holding its 4th annual membership conference on open standards for content on October 22nd and 23rd at Lehigh University. Attendees from around the world will be gathering at Lehighs mountain top campus to hear how a new standard descriptive language is set to change the face of inventory management, procurement and collaborative commerce over the Internet.

Following the welcome address given by Dr. Mohamed El-Asser and the ECCMA Board of Directors, Dr. Hillman will introduce the first panel of experts from Lehigh University including Dr. Korth, Dr. Pottenger, Dr. Cheng and Dr. Davison. This panel will be followed by a panel introduced by Mr. Clark the chairman of the NATO Allied Committee of National Directors on Codification and including, Mr. Maison the Deputy Director of DLIS, Ms. Zimmerman the Assistant EMALL program manger, Mr. Messina from NIST and a representative from the Federal Integrated Acquisition Environment. This panel will provide the public sector perspective on the implementation of a global standard descriptive language. The final panel introduced by Mr. Barth, includes Mr. Papa (ENDECA), Mr. Warner (iGate) Mr. Sawchuk (The Hackett Group) and Mr. Krueger (AnswerThink) who will address the commercial opportunities of this major breakthrough in global commerce.

Joe Homan, the Executive Director of Enterprise Integration at Concurrent Technologies Corporation said: The development of a common standard descriptive language will have far reaching implications for information in general and will revolutionize inventory management, procurement and supply chain management as we know it today."

Peter Benson, The Chief Technical Officer of ECCMA said This conference is designed to provide companies with the critical information they need to plan and implement their next generation Internet Strategy. The eOTD is an enormously powerful catalyst that, like a clarifying agent that you add to cloudy water, rapidly attaches itself to suspended particles bringing transparency and clarity to what was before unclear. The eOTD effectively freezes the meaning of data. Most companies that have realized the importance of the Internet as a tool for communications are now realizing that they need to drive ambiguity out of their commercial transactions. That is the purpose of this conference"
