High school and college art students are encouraged by an up-and-coming designer jean company to enter a contest that could propel them into the world of international fashion.
Orlando, FL & San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 25 2004-–The thought of accepting design ideas from all over the world to help expand our line is thrilling" states Allison Chancey, Founder of Gypsy Jeans. Accepting entries from high school and college students, unknown artists, struggling fashion designers, bored housewives and even teenagers keeps our designs fresh. Were grateful for our early success and this gives us a unique way of giving back."
The contest is open to anyone who would like to submit a design for consideration to http://GypsyJeans.com. Chancey hopes young art students will embrace the contest with enthusiasm.
"This could be the start of a very rewarding design career. Each winner will have their picture, name and artwork by" credit on the hang tag, signature on the jeans leg and a rewarding contract paying a residual for each and every pair of jeans sold with the winning design," explained Chancey.
Gypsy Jeans are limited edition, art-inspired jeans with interchangeable legs and amongst the hottest new designer jeans to hit the market.
"Gypsy Jeans have a patented design whereby a separating zipper runs vertically from the front waistband to the rear waistband, allowing the pants to separate into two halves," explained Chancey. "The pants can then interchange with other pairs, creating a variety of new looks. Two Gypsy Jeans can be separated into four different fashion styles."
The artsy jeans appeal to girls and women of all ages, and most who see them immediately want two or three pairs they can mix and match.
Twelve designs will be produced in three separate jean line categories, which will target women, teen girls, and little girls. A distinguished panel of fashion editors, celebrity fashion stylists and industry professionals will judge contest entries. After selecting the 12 finalists from each category, those entries will be placed on the company web site at http://GypsyJeans.com where the public will be able to vote for the designs they want to be created.
"Gypsy Jeans are exciting, fresh, and new. Everywhere I go people ask about them. This contest will give so many young artists a chance to be discovered, and it will give the public an opportunity to actually select the future designs that will be on Gypsy Jeans," said Brittney Lane Godwin, selected as the exclusive model for Gypsy Jeans.
"I was impressed with your uniquely styled jeans. Your design concepts are certainly fresh and different from any I have seen in the market to date. Its nice to see something new and out of the ordinary being offered" said Leigh Price, account executive for Magic International, the largest fashion trade show in the U.S.
Gypsy Jeans plans to have the public take an active voice in the selection of their 36 winning entries, which will then be reviewed by management for production of their Summer / Fall 2004 line of jeans. Those who register on the http://GypsyJeans.com web site and vote for their favorite designs will be given the opportunity to pre-order the jeans of their choice at a special discount.
"We are hopeful that artists will not only come up with some wonderful new art work for our new line of jeans, we hope they will encourage their friends to vote and help decide the winner. The public will be allowed to vote only once for a design in each of the three different categories. This will truly make our jeans for the people and by the people," said Chancey.
The 36 winners will not only be propelled into the world of international fashion, they will receive a royalty payment for every pair of jeans sold bearing their designs. The future will most certainly be bright for the winners.
Gypsy Jeans was recently honored at the third annual Indie Fashion Awards in New York City with the Best Indie Trendsetter Award" for its patented line of interchangeable jeans. The Indie Fashion Awards recognizes the talents of independent apparel and accessory designers, as top stylists, models, retailers, manufacturers and buyers pay tribute to the independent designers in the fashion industry. It is a source of inspiration to new designers and an acknowledgment of the established independent designer.
The award is a validation of the recent surge of favorable publicity for Gypsy Jeans. Industry insiders and fashion publications, including Cosmo Girl," Glamour En Espanol," and Fashion Mannuscript" are taking notice of the cutting-edge fashion house, running features on the one-of-a-kind jeans.
Gypsy Jeans are currently available at select apparel boutiques, the http://GypsyJeans.com web site as well as at Amazon.com for mail order purchasers. After the contest is completed and the new line is produced, Chancey says to expect to see the full line at stores everywhere.
