MBAs for Charitys Benefit, a diverse group of volunteer MBAs, are organizing Music and Wishes," a charity event to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Metro New York. Music and Wishes" will take place at Coda, a trendy night club (formerly a Chase Bank) on 34th Street and Madison Avenue in Manhattan. The venue was made available to the group at no charge.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 15 2004--Unlike most charity benefits, tickets to the event are only $50.00. The event will feature Mark Viera, a nationally acclaimed comedian, Rock, Soul, Pop, and R&B artists all of whom are donating their talent for the night. In addition to the packed line up of performers, dinner has been donated by some of New Yorks finest restaurants, including Pine Too Italian restaurant. Every single person and entity that has been approached for their help has more than obliged. The New York spirit is shining from beginning to end," said Elena T. Rivera, MBA, organizer of the event and President of MBAs for Charitys Benefit.
The venue, the performers, the food, the graphic design and print of all promotional materials, and everything else related to the event has been donated in order to reach the groups modest goal of $10,000. Since there are no expenses (everything is being donated), 100% of the nights proceeds will be presented to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York, who will be in attendance that night.
Attending the event is as simple as showing up the night of the event. The benefit is open to the public, and according to Ms. Rivera, No donation will be turned down, we are not only seeking to raise the money, we are looking to celebrate. The more, the merrier."

About MBAs for Charitys Benefit
MBAs for Charitys Benefit was created by MBA in Media Management students who met at Metropolitan College of New York (www.metropolitan.edu). As second semester students, the class was required to initiate and complete a media venture." The class organized a show to raise money for the AIDS Research Alliance, Hollywood, California. The show and efforts that went into the entire production were successful. The group decided that using their academic financial knowledge and media connections, they could raise money for charities as volunteers.
About the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York
On April 29, 1980 in Phoenix, a young boy's wish to be a police officer was granted by the Arizona Department of Public Safety and his dream served as the inspiration for the largest wish-granting organization in the world. He was given a custom-made uniform, helmet and badge and spent the day as a police officer. The Metro New York chapter, which serves the five boroughs of New York City and Nassau County, Long Island, began in 1983 and is based in Lake Success with a field office in Manhattan. The Metro New York chapter has granted 5,000 wishes (and counting) since its founding in 1983. In Fiscal Year 2003, the Foundation granted the wishes of 460 local children and hosted another 180 children from Make-A-Wish chapters around the world whose wish involved travel to New York City. Thats one wish every 14 hours! For more information, visit http://www.metrony.wish.org.
