"BRONZE AND WOOD SCULPTURES, PAINTINGS by MICHAEL HALL - ROSEMARY MALONE-HALL - JOSEPH WIGLEY - CATHERINE WERTH"
Dripping Springs, TX (PRWEB) October 1, 2004 -- The art show "On and Off the Wall" at The Werth Gallery, located within the Hill Country Studios Artisan community, opens October 17 and continues through December 30th. This event simultaneously celebrates 3 decades of work by Michael Hall's Studio & Foundry and the inaugural opening of the gallery.
The broad range of bronze sculpture featured by internationally known sculptor and founder Michael Hall explores Native American ceremony, nature through animals, woman's rights, the human spirit, the inner world and whimsy. His highly articulated workmanship, attention to detail, purity of form, depth of sensitivity and his ability to stir the viewer is the common thread of his work.
In contrast Joseph Wigley is a relative new comer to sculpture yet his work makes a strong statement. His sculptures have a Zen quality of simplicity with layers of interpretation. Joseph partners with a variety of natural materials including native stones, wood and also bronze. His bronze "Breath of Life" can be seen in the September 2004 issue of Southwest Art magazine within the section labeled, "Artists to Collect".
Rosemary Malone-Hall's background as a horticultural therapist is reflected in the meticulous blossoms of her sensuous sculptural garden of work. Like her husband and partner Michael her artistic talents often go into producing the fine patinas for other artist's creations in their bronze foundry in Driftwood.
Catherine Werth's paintings feature her new series, "The Hills Are Alive" and will be seen along with earlier works. The unique compliment of her lively paintings completes the gallery environment.. Catherine is co-director of Hill Country Studios Community and active in promoting the arts in Dripping Springs.
