Yellowspeed, a leading technology provider serving small and medium sized businesses, today announced an enhanced spam and virus filtering service for small and medium sized businesses

Harrington Park, NJ (PRWEB) Oct 1, 2004 --YellowSpeed, a leading technology provider serving small and medium sized businesses, today announced an enhanced spam and virus filtering service for SMB's (small/medium businesses)

At a minimum, six layers of filtering are utilized, including, multiple virus scanning engines, bayesian analysis, denial of service security protection.

Large companies/enterprises have the budget, and staff to deal with the spam issue, inhouse. For many smaller firms, maintaining a dedicated staff, software and hardware is simply not a viable option. YellowSpeed helps these firms combat the surge of spam, without installing expensive software or hardware.
"Our Service is geared to what we feel is the underserved small and medium sized business segment" said Rolando Garcia, Lead Technologist at YellowSpeed. "Large companies/enterprises have the budget, and staff to deal with the spam issue, inhouse. For many smaller firms, maintaining a dedicated staff, software and hardware is simply not a viable option. YellowSpeed helps these firms combat the surge of spam, without installing expensive software or hardware."

YellowSpeed's managed email filtering service is the first line of defense against spam and email bourne virus and worms. When email viruses and worms are unknowingly unleashed by an individual user, an entire network is susceptible to infection. One cannot rely solely on desktop anti- virus software for protection. Outdated virus signatures and users inadvertently turning off desktop protection are just some of the disadvantages of relying on a single prong defense.

Filtering email traffic is best done before it arrives at the company mail server.

The service works by redirecting mail traffic from the end user's mailservers to Yellowspeed's servers. Email is then filtered with the non spam" traffic sent to the end users server(s). Virus traffic and known spam are deleted before reaching end user servers. This helps greatly in relieving the load on overburdened mail systems.
