Celebrity Poker Comes to Sky TV Men and Motors this Month With UK Challenge 2004 CelebPoker Tournament

Celebrities pit themselves against member of the general public in a nail-biting game of celebrity poker. The stakes are high, with 120,000 potential prize money, and the venue (the Rendezvous Casino in Brighton Marina) is star studded with celebrities including Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Chris Brookes and John McCrirrick all taking part. London, UK (PRWEB) October 7, 2004 -- Celebrity Poker comes to Sky TV Men and Motors this month with UK Challenge 2004 Celeb Poker Tournament

The inaugural CelebPoker UK Challenge 2004 Poker Tournament will be shown on Sky Men and Motors Friday 8th October 2004 at 11pm.
The event was played at the Rendezvous Casino in Brighton over the bank holiday weekend 28/29th August, with a prize pool of 120,000, making it one of the largest poker tournaments in Europe. The line up was breathtaking, the 120,000 prize pool had attracted the great and good of European Poker as well as a healthy mix of celebrities and satellite qualifiers to really give the event an edge that you could sense seeping out from the walls

The pre tournament favourites were Roy The Boy" Brindley, a seasoned poker pro from Ireland, and Marcel Luske, one of the world's best players from the Netherlands.

Celebrities that played in this poker tournament were as follows;
Jimmy White, Mark Williams, Stephen Hendry, Capital Radio DJ Chris Brooks, John McCririck, Tony Cascarino, Jesse Birdsall and Rogue Trader Nick Leeson.

The event will be screened on Sky TV on October 8th on the Men and Motors channel. 120 players paid the 1000 entry to play no limit poker against celebrities and professional poker players from all over Europe. The tournament winner of the CelebPoker UK Challenge winner 2004 won 40,000 as well as a seat at the CelebPoker Global Challenge 2005, entry cost $5000.
