Phoenix AZ - 12 News and the Conrad Group have teamed up to produce the 2005 Arizona Weather Calendar.
(PRWEB) October 8, 2004 -- In a region where extreme weather can influence every citizen, the Arizona Weather Calendar proides clear, concise, and accurate weather information in a format that is easy to understand and lovely to look at.
While many people are fascinated by the weather, few understand the complexity of weather development and the natural systems that produce weather. In an effor tot help Arizonans better understand weather and be prepared for what Mother Nature dishes out, 12 News meteorologists have included detailed monthly weather highlights, aritcles and graphics on monsoon, drought, heat stress and sun safety, lightning, water and wildfire safety, as well as desert survival and many other interesting facts about Arizona's unique and challenging weather.
The calendar features more than 30 beautiful color photographs that were selected from the 12 News Weather Calendar Contest held earlier this year. Each daily calendar block contains the time of sunrise and set, moonrise and set, normal highs, lows, and record temperatures and precipitation for each day of the year. Astronomical events, such as moon phases, meteor showers, equinoxes, and solstice dates are also noted along with hours and minutes of daylight for each week. All federal holidays and special observances are also recognized and the final page of the calendar even includes a glossary of weather terms. The Arizona Weather Calendar is a must have" for anyone who enjoys observing the weather.
A portion of the proceeds from this project will be contributed to Season for Sharing, the annual holiday campaign of The Arizona Republic and 12 News in partnership with the Gannett Foundation. Season for Sharing, now in its 11th year, raises awareness and dollars for agencies that serve low income and under-served families and children, the elderly, and victims of domestic violence.
