Stamford Location Turns Three As Parent Company Celebrates 26th Year.
Stamford, CT (PRWEB) October 11, 2004 -- For David Squibb, the decision to open his Fratelli Ravioli Shop and Café in November of 2000 was more a matter of food-survival" than business. Squibb was an everyday customer at Fratelli Ravioli on Court Street in Brooklyn, where he and his wife, Cindy, occupied the apartment above the shop. When Cindy received a job offer from Paine Webber in Stamford, and relocation seemed imminent, David did what any ravioli-loving Brooklynite would do—I called Larry Vivola at Fratelli Ravioli and told him I wanted to open a shop in Stamford," says Squibb. I was ready for a change and it just felt right."
That was three years ago, and looking back, Squibb jokes about the transition from life-long garment industry executive to pasta merchant. I was totally new to the food business," says Squibb. And since mine was the first Fratelli Ravioli franchise store, I was sort of the guinea pig." Fratelli Ravioli now has franchise operations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. We were both flying by the seat of our pants, but the folks at Fratelli Ravioli gave me so much support—I felt like family," adds Squibb.
Squibbs Fratelli Ravioli Shop and Café, located at 17 Cedar Heights Road in Stamford, offers fifteen varieties of homemade ravioli and eight varieties of linguini, fettuccini, and angle hair pasta, all made from fresh, scratch ingredients at Fratellis Brooklyn facility and delivered twice weekly to the shop. The shop also features an espresso bar, bakery items, and a complete array of packaged Italian specialty products. Guests have choice of dining in the café from the in-house menu, or taking home any of the many varieties of frozen raviolis and pastas. Squibb, a self-proclaimed mozzarella expert, feels his fresh mozzarella is the best hes tasted in Connecticut.
Larry Vivola, President of Fratelli Ravioli Franchise Group, marks the third anniversary of the Stamford shop as a particularly special date for the company. David opened his store in 2001 on the exact same day our father opened the original Fratelli Ravioli in 1978," says Vivola. We very happy to see over two decades of family tradition now prospering here in Stamford," he added.
As Squibb begins his fourth year, business couldnt be better. In response to the high demand for his ravioli, he opened a satellite location at the Stamford Railroad Station, and plans to open more Fratelli Ravioli shops throughout Fairfield County.
