She is fresh off the stage performing in A Raisin In The Sun" and has presented or performed in 49 of the 50 US states. She will be reading and performing excerpts of her best-selling book Open My Eyes, Open My Soul: Celebrating Our Common Humanity" along with her co-creator, Elodia Tate. Ms. Tate is a writer who works extensively with the natural health community, using the power of storytelling to encourage others to embrace a natural approach. She shares humor about coming from a multicultural family and together she and Miss King will tell the story behind the making of Open My Eyes, Open My Soul". The book is a collection of stories and poems from people of all walks of life, including celebrity contributions from Stevie Wonder, Maya Angelou, Muhammad Ali and many others. The readings will show the beauty and power of diversity.
Daniel Nahmod is a renowned singer-songwriter and he will be performing his original songs throughout the evening. Daniel has composed such inspirational songs as One Power" and No Place For Hate". He has performed live for more than 500,000 people in 40 US states and Canada, receiving literally thousands of standing ovations from deeply moved audiences.
The audience must be prepared to laugh, cry, and sing. This will be a poignant event with music, stories, poetry and love. A book and CD signing will be held following the performance.
