Non-Profit Develops Innvovative, Free Healthcare Program: Online Patient-to-Patient Doctor Recommendations

RemarkableDocs encourages the community to provide recommendations of remarkable doctors. Through an online database, patients can recommend doctors by sharing their positive experiences, and subsequent patients can use the site as a free resource for finding doctors by location, name, condition or specialty.

(PRWEB) October 15, 2004 -- RemarkableDocs, a new non-profit program created to provide individuals a free resource for choosing a doctor, is expanding its online database for patient-to-patient doctor recommendations. The mission of the organization is to ultimately provide a comprehensive resource for the entire nation. RemarkableDocs is encouraging anyone who has had a positive experience with a doctor to take 10 minutes and register this doctor through the online database.

With these valuable recommendations, subsequent patients can search for a doctor by location, specialty or physician name through the same website. Built on the concept of community, the site uses technology as the bridge to connect people in need of medical care with in-depth positive perspectives from patients—specifically a personal description of the remarkable experience the recommending patient had with a certain doctor. This, in turn, creates a vital community of support for those facing medical challenges.

RemarkableDocs is the vision of three friends, who realized the need for a patient-to-patient doctor recommendation system. One founder developed the concept when going through an exhaustive search to find the right doctor for her child with special orthopedic needs. This search underlined the need for people to easily share their positive doctor recommendations through the Internet. She recruited talented people who share this vision and have devoted their time and resources to developing the RemarkableDocs program.

Patients and their families need a breadth of resources in making healthcare decisions and in choosing the right doctor," said Sonja Bachus, Founder. Our research shows that many people have positive doctor recommendations they are willing to share. We want them to use this program as a way to share this valuable resource with everyone looking for a remarkable doctor."

To register a positive doctor recommendation, visit the organizations website at www.remarkabledocs.org. RemarkableDocs strives to include accurate and up-to-date doctor information in its database. All doctor registrations are reviewed before inclusion in the database, and then again on a yearly basis to check license status and accuracy of contact information. The site is maintained through individual, foundation and corporate donations.
