Providence, RI (PRWEB) October 21, 2004 -- As the cable industry's action organization against AIDS, Cable Positive (www.Cablepositive.org) helps to spread the word about the importance of knowledge, prevention, and testing for AIDS. Now designer Haig Bedrossian of branding and design firm Ploom (www.ploom.com) has created a new and vibrant Home Page for the group's website, to help the nonprofit continue the fight.
In creating the new design, Ploom worked closely with Cable Positive VP, Communications, Marketing + Special Projects Thomas Dima, who provided Ploom with the organization's communication strategy as the foundation for the work. Using this strategy as a clear guide to the organization's goals for website visitors, Ploom then created a new, bright and uncluttered visual environment for Cable Positive that also offered a more intuitive and responsive interface, and which better answered the needs of users and businesses alike. The new site is elegant, easy to navigate, and becomes an instant and vital information source for visitors seeking more information about the fight against AIDS worldwide.
"This is so much better than what we had before," raves Cable Positive's Dima. "We have received great comments from our board about the updates to the front page and navigation to the website. It looks awesome, and we want to thank Bedrossian for moving us forward with his design."
To accomplish the site redesign, Ploom provided a host of valuable services in preparation for the new design, including a web usability evaluation of the existing homepage for the group, and a brand evaluation of the Cable Positive brand in general, followed by such essential components as content strategy, information architecture, a visual interface design, and a web motion graphic animation. The final site was then coded by Cable Positive's web partner, Mike Balmaceda. Bedrossian had worked with the group before, creating a high-profile 30-second PSA for the group about the importance of testing back in 1999.
Ploom's new design expressed and enhanced the Cable Positive identity through a use of clear visual language incorporating vibrant colors, intuitive interfaces, and a wide demographic appeal (with a target audience from age 16 to 55). In addition, since Cable Positive's main mission is AIDS awareness within television and the media, Ploom also designed an area on the home page that reflected the group's passion and progressive energy through an animated motion graphic Flash area that will feature important news, events and campaigns on an ongoing basis.
Ploom's creative tools on the Cable Positive design included such equipment as a Macintosh G5, as well as such programs as ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS, BBEDIT, MACROMEDIA DREAMWEAVER, and MACROMEDIA HOMESITE.
