Rapport International - New Management Excited about Growth in Translation Industry

85% web pages are in English but only 45% of web's users are native English speakers. New owner of Rapport International excited about helping clients capture global customer base with translated materials.

(PRWEB) October 22, 2004 -- Current owner Lisa Gavigan announces the sale of Rapport International to new owner Wendy Pease, who is very excited about the growth potential in the language translation industry. According to IDC, a leading research firm, 85% of web pages are in English but only 45% of the webs users are native speakers. The study found that 75% of the users prefer to conduct business in their own language.

Wendy Pease, a 1997 graduate of the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, commented I am delighted to continue the great work that Lisa started over 18 years ago. Companies expanding globally need to localize materials for successful business ventures. Rapport International has the experience to meet the needs of these expanding companies." After 18 years, Ms. Gavigan decided it was time for a new venture in the specialty bakery industry. I am ready for a new challenge and feel comfortable passing the reins to Wendy."

The Allied Business Intelligence study estimates the language translation industry will be an $11.5 billion business by 2007. The report also reports that the fastest growing segment will be for website localization, which is expected to grow in revenues from $499 million in 2001 to $3.1 billion in 2007, a compound average annual growth rate of 35%."

One of Rapport Internationals Spanish translators has been translating for over 15 years. He commented that quality human translation combined with strong project management is the only way to get a dependable and usable translation. Rapport International has these attributes." He added that the change in management will bring the marketing leadership necessary to build and expand the companys reach in this growing industry."

The sale closed on September 2, 2004 and will continue operations as before. For more information, contact Wendy Pease at Rapport International 978-443-2540 or rapport@rapportintl.com
