New technology can capture millions in revenue for EMS providers

Briarcliff Manor, NY (PRWEB) October 23, 2004 -- Incomplete or inaccurate tracking of ambulance calls can cost ambulance companies, hospitals, fire departments and other providers of emergency medical services millions of dollars per year. Digitech, an ambulance reimbursement solutions company based in Briarcliff Manor, has developed a solution with its voice-activated Ambulance Commander Mobile. Ambulance Commander Mobile captures calls to emergency medical services and streamlines call management to avoid lost calls and lost revenue. Digitech is showcasing its new product at the EMS EXPO, held on October 21 - 23 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Our voice-activated system captures data accurately and safely for every call," explains Mark Schiowitz, president of Digitech. Its hands-free feature allows the EMS driver to keep his hands on the wheel while receiving call information. Ambulance Commander Mobile ‘speaks the patients name, address, and destination so that the driver does not need to write while driving."

In the ambulance, Ambulance Commander Mobile captures data on calls, timestamps the data, and collects other detailed trip information. Large, readily accessible buttons make it easy for the driver and crew member to quickly timestamp and transmit details on the trip to the dispatch center so that the center knows the status of each emergency vehicle in the fleet and of each trip.

In addition to preventing lost or inaccurate call data, Ambulance Commander Mobile Emergency helps medical service providers to streamline their billing systems and realize significant financial savings, since providers need fewer dispatching personnel. They also can recapture lost revenues through a more efficient and accurate billing process.
