Seattle, WA (PRWEB) October 21, 2004 -– Bugaboo Incorporated announced today the launch of a new web site that enables individuals to share feedback on people they have met through an online dating service. The site, called theDateScoop.com, is believed to be the first dedicated as a dater feedback forum and is available for viewing at http://www.thedatescoop.com.

The number of individuals using online dating sites as a means to meet people continues to grow significantly. However, focus groups conducted by theDateScoop.com indicate a growing frustration level in the online dating community due to the large number of misleading dating profiles.

When posting an online profile many people are very honest, but there is also a lot of deception in the online dating community. We have found that when people misrepresent themselves online, men are most likely to make themselves taller or lie about their availability, while women most often make themselves younger or lie about their weight," stated Kecia Pitts, President of Bugaboo Incorporated. Both men and women seem to be equally guilty regarding the accuracy of the photos they post," Ms. Pitts went on to say.

Other studies have indicated that as many as 25% of people posting online profiles are married. Ms. Pitts further stated, We think online dating is truly a great way to meet people. In fact the people that started this company met online. Still, online dating is certainly an arena where someone should proceed cautiously. We think theDateScoop.com will add an add element of honesty and make the whole experience more enjoyable."

Registration for theDateScoop.com is free and members may share feedback regarding people they meet via online dating by filling out an easy to use questionnaire. This feedback will include the chance to reveal an assessment regarding the honesty of an online profile. Additionally, members may express a number of other opinions about their date, including positive feedback, fun facts, and humorous comments. Members may also pay for additional services, including the ability to view details from the feedback database on themselves and other online daters.

Over 29 million Americans visited an online dating site last year and according to a May 2004 report by the Online Publishers Association, U.S. consumers spent $449.5 million on online dating content in 2003, a nearly 50% increase from the year before.
