The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association has No Confidence" in the Federal Air Marshal Director Thomas D. Quinn and therefore calls for his immediate removal
Lewisberry, PA (PRWEB) October 7, 2004 -- For over two years, Federal Air Marshals have expressed grave concern over the continued dangerous and reckless policies implemented by Director Thomas D. Quinn.
Federal Air Marshals want to guarantee the safety of American citizens and protect them from any future acts of terrorism. Under the Directorship of Thomas D. Quinn, Federal Air Marshals are unable to effectively perform their duties.
After receiving a majority consensus of their Federal Air Marshal membership, leaders of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), unanimously passed a resolution of no confidence" in the leadership abilities of Thomas D. Quinn. FLEOA has vowed to take all necessary and appropriate steps to seek Thomas D. Quinns removal and replacement.
To paraphrase a true leader –– leadership is solving problems", states FLEOA's 1st Vice President Jon Adler, "The day employees stop bringing you their problems, is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help, or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership".
Director Quinn has failed miserably in managing the Federal Air Marshal Service, thus putting the American public in grave danger. "For the past two years, Mr. Quinn has continually ignored credible safety and security concerns brought to him by Federal Air Marshals, aviation industry experts, and anti terrorism experts," says Adler.
Director Quinn has implemented dress, grooming, and boarding policies that continually compromise the identity of Federal Air Marshals. "Quinn has now implemented a hotel policy that requires all undercover special agents to stay in selected budget motels, and mandates that they identify themselves and present their credentials to non- security cleared hotel clerks in these budget motels, in order to receive a discounted rate," concluded Adler.
The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association is the largest nonpartisan, professional association in representing over 22,000 federal agents (including over 1400 Federal Air Marshals) from over 50 different federal law enforcement agencies.
