Unique preparatory school in Dallas for grades 5-8 scheduled to open January, 2004 hosting Open House on Sunday, December 5, 2004.

Carrollton, TX (PRWEB) October 28, 2004 -- Choices Leadership Academy, a multicultural college preparatory middle school for grades five through eight, will hold its Open House Celebration on Sunday, December 5, 2004 from 3:00PM until 5:00PM. Choices Leadership Academys 10,000 square foot facility is located at 18106 Marsh Lane, on the northeast corner of Marsh and Frankford, in Dallas.

The nonprofit private school, scheduled to open in January 2005, will embrace bright, talented and gifted students from African-American, Asian, Indian, Hispanic, and European cultures. Choices Leadership Academy will cultivate an educational environment that focuses on leadership development, cultural arts and advanced academics, with a student-to-teacher ratio of 12:1.

The school is unique in that it is one of only six private middle schools in the United States, and the only school of its kind in Texas. Choices Leadership Academy will partner with top independent schools, colleges and cultural organizations to prepare students for a successful transition from middle school to high school advanced academic programs. Among the academic partners for mentoring support are The Parish Episcopal School, St. Marks School, Brilliance Academy, Trinity Christian Academy, Greenhill and Brookhaven College.

Choices Leadership Academy will accept a maximum of 100 culturally diverse students per year from Dallas and surrounding areas, with full scholarship opportunities for 10% of the school population. Other qualifying students will receive need-based financial aid assistance, for tuition, from grants and donations.

The Kahn Education Foundation awarded Choices Leadership Academy a $50,000 grant for operating and scholarship programs to launch the campaign. Additional funding has been received from the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs for fine arts programs, and the DeBusk Foundation for academic and leadership programs for gifted and talented students.

Choices Leadership Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to provide quality personal and community education for Americas future generation of leaders by promoting ethical citizenship, multicultural knowledge, artistic creativity and academic excellence paralleled with appropriate choice making and self value.
