Badnarik Campaign Finishes with Swing through Home State

Michael Badnarik, the Libertarian nominee for President of the United States, will complete the final days of the 2004 campaign with a visit to several cities in his home state of Texas.

AUSTIN, TX (PRWEB) October 31, 2004 -- Michael Badnarik, the Libertarian nominee for President of the United States, will complete the final days of the 2004 campaign with a visit to several cities in his home state of Texas.

Badnarik has received national and international attention for his campaign as the Libertarian Party presidential candidate. He has received the endorsements of such diverse personalities as comedian Doug Stanhope of Girls Gone Wild fame and magician Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller to former Congressman Bob Barr and former Reagan appointee Lance Lamberton.

"We are proud of the work Michael has done to spread the Libertarian Party message" says Libertarian Party state chair Patrick Dixon. "Since we are the only active presidential campaign in the state of Texas, we want to extend the opportunity for Texans to meet the candidate that everyone is talking about."

According to Dixon, both the Democrats and Republicans have written off Texas in the current campaign. Indeed, the Democratic Party of Texas has informed Texas Democrats not to support the Kerry campaign (1,2), conceding Texas' electoral votes to Bush. Nor are Republicans united behind their nominee; over 8% of the voters in the March 2004 Republican primary chose "No preference" instead of George Bush (3).

"We are proud that we are offering Texas voters a real choice that will protest the intrusion of government into our personal lives and our wallets," Dixon said. "Texas voters can send a message to Washington on Nov 2nd."

Badnarik will appear in Houston on Saturday Oct 30, Byran-College Station on Sunday Oct 31, Dallas-Fort Worth on Sunday Oct 31, San Antonio on Monday Nov 1, finishing with an election night celebration in Austin on Tuesday Nov 2.
