Writers and Public Speakers Pitch Their Work With Video Online

WriterInterviews.com helps writers and public speakers to put video of themselves on their own web site. They can talk to their audience, presenting their work, demonstrating their abilities in a personal way. WriterInterviews.com encodes and uploads the video and hosts it on dedicated servers.

(PRWEB) November 3, 2004 -- Writers and public speakers can now easily have video of themselves on their own web sites, with the help of a new web enterprise, WriterInterviews.com. The video appears as a link, with a choice of video formats. Travel writer Jeff Greenwald, author of Shopping for Buddhas and Scratching the Surface, demonstrates how its done, talking about his most recent book on WriterInterviews.com. Greenwald shows the impact of a friendly, direct conversation with the viewer, revealing background about how he put this book together and changes in travel writing over the years. He delivers a personal message to his readers.

Over the past decade, the Internet has provided new ways for writers and public speakers to publicize their work and abilities by enabling them to have their own web sites. Now, taking that to the next level, they can add a face and a voice to deliver their message. Online interviews usually appear as print questions and answers, which can be informative, but dry. With video of themselves talking to their audience, writers and speakers can, in effect, make a more personal connection with them.

Writers can go on camera to promote a book they have written, pitch a project, or demonstrate to TV talk show producers and booksellers that they can speak as well as they can write. Public speakers, who are often also writers, can use the service to show speakers bureaus or potential clients how effectively they present their subjects.

Writers and public speakers create their own interview video, which can be in the form of answering questions from someone off camera, or, as in Greenwalds demonstration, speaking directly to the camera. The WriterInterviews.com site also offers helpful tips, both for the photographer and subject, on how to videotape on-camera interviews.
WriterInterviews.com converts the video to a streaming video file and offers low cost hosting on a dedicated server. The streaming video is linked directly from the writers or speakers web site.

This service streamlines the process of getting video online. Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that host web sites do not allow the user to upload video, due to the large storage space and bandwidth required. So, besides the technical knowledge needed to encode and upload the video, the writers or speakers ISP may not allow it or may not support the video formats desired. The link to the video on WriterInterviews.coms dedicated servers does not add excessive bandwidth. Yet the video appears seamlessly as part of the writers web site.

WriterInterviews.com is a service of Making History Creative Services.
