Northshore School District Protects Staff with Roaring Penguin Softwares CanIt-PRO Anti-Spam Solution

CanIt-PRO protects K-12 districts faculty and staff from spam and viruses.

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) November 10, 2004 -– The Northshore School District of Bothell, Washington, has chosen Roaring Penguin Softwares CanIt-PRO solution to stop spam and viruses before they reach the districts 3,500 e-mail users.

Jon Wiederspan, the districts Network Operations Manager, said, After seeing Roaring Penguins CanIt-PRO featured as one of the top solutions in product reviews, we decided to evaluate it, and we were very pleased with the results. CanIt-PRO is now stopping more than 60% of our incoming mail as spam and our staff is relieved by the results."

Previously, the district had been using the mail filtering capabilities built into its mail server and had considered building its own solution. Wiederspan adds, RFC822 and realtime blacklists were catching only about half of the spam that our users received, and the porn ads that most disturb people were getting through. Building our own solution was going to require more time and management than we had the resources to support. CanIt-PRO provided us with everything we needed and its easy to install, configure and manage over the web."

Northshore School District is also using the Clam AntiVirus software that is bundled with CanIt-PRO, and reports that the solution has virtually eliminated e-mail-borne virus attachments. CanIt-PRO is ideal for campuses, ISPs and large organizations where global filtering policies must be balanced with individuals ability to have the final decision over what is and is not spam.

CanIt products offer the industry's most complete and flexible anti-spam and anti-virus solutions. They can be deployed in any enterprise e-mail environment, including on all Linux and UNIX servers. As a stand-alone gateway appliance, CanIt can protect e-mail environments running non-UNIX servers, such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and Novell Groupwise.

A trial version of CanIt or CanIt-PRO can be obtained at http://www.roaringpenguin.com/anti_spam/get_canit_request.php.
