Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 10, 2004 -- The America Chamber of Commerce, The Chamber That Means Business® has announced today that HeartSave Solutions Inc., a distributor of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) has partnered with the America Chamber of Commerce to provide Heartsine automated external defibrillators to any City in the USA complete with State Prescription for a total of $1,350.
The America Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to saving the lives of local citizens and visitors by making AEDs more accessible in a wide variety of settings throughout America. The AED is designed to save the lives of victims who suffer a massive heart attack, also called sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Currently 95 percent of SCA victims die before reaching the hospital due to the length of time it takes for emergency personnel to arrive on the scene. In all, about 340,000 Americans die each year from SCA. In fact a persons chance of survival is reduced by about 10 percent for every minute spent waiting for a potentially lifesaving defibrillator shock. The American Heart Association estimates that as many as 50,000 of these lives can be saved if an AED is available at the time of the emergency and someone is nearby who has been trained to use it.
The new ordinance states that AED devices are required for the city of Weston, FL businesses. Automated external defibrillator devices shall be installed in the following buildings located within the geographical boundaries of the city. Required building are; places of public assembly as defined in the Florida building code, office building in excess of 20,000 square feet, gymnasiums, fitness centers and indoor recreational centers in excess of 1,500 people. Also included are restaurants with 100 or more seats including indoor and outdoor and bar; commercial and retail spaces in excess of 35,000 square feet and all hotels and motels.
