Personal Genesis Publishing announced a new distribution agreement with industry leader and worldwide distributor of books, Baker & Taylor, Inc to distribute Ron Hornes first-of-its-kind publication – Forgotten Faces". This unique book is the first to explore and explain the artistic merit and historical importance of photo-ceramic memorial portraits on tombstones as an entirely original photo-history of American immigration. The first in a series titled Forgotten Faces – Americas Lost History", A Window Into Our Immigrant Past" presents 350 never-before-published, well preserved memorial portraits of American Immigrants from 1900-1945.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 12, 2004 -– Personal Genesis Publishing has announced a partnership agreement with Baker & Taylor, Inc, one of the largest book distributors in the world, to distribute Ron Hornes unique, new book on American immigrants "Forgotten Faces – A Window Into Our Immigrant Past." Baker & Taylor is a leading full-line distributor of books, video and music products to libraries, retailers, and other resellers. They have been in business for over 175 years and have developed long-term relationships with major suppliers, including book publishers, movie studios, and music labels, shipping more than 1 million unique ISBNs (SKUs) annually. Baker & Taylor maintains one of the largest combined in-stock book, video and music inventories in the United States with approximately 385,000 titles in inventory and over 1.5 million titles available for order. They entered into partnership with Personal Genesis Publishing specifically to distribute Ron Horne's new book, "Forgotten Faces – A Window Into Our Immigrant Past."

"Forgotten Faces" reveals for the first time, rare photographs from the turn of the 20th century still perfectly preserved despite being outdoors for almost a century. Overlooked by historians and artists alike, enameled photo-ceramic memorial portraits mounted on tombstones present a stunningly beautiful and uniquely engaging art form rich in American immigrant history. Yet this valued treasure of our nation's legacy is disappearing due to neglect and vandalism before it can be researched, documented and preserved.

"Forgotten Faces" is the first book to alert readers to this national problem by displaying a collection of 350 well preserved memorial portraits from California and across the United States and recommends methods for documenting the thousands that still remain. "Forgotten Faces" celebrates memorial portraiture as a distinct art form. It emphasizes its important historical contribution. It explores the hundred-year-old technology that created images capable of surviving outdoors for centuries. In doing so, it opens a window in time on the private faces of Americas immigrant past. "Forgotten Faces" examines this working class tradition and explores the historical and cultural influence of immigrants who came to America from 28 different nations.

"'Forgotten Faces' is a stunning gallery, filled with haunting echoes of the past. It is an important addition to the study of both cemeteries and immigrant life in the U.S." - Gary Collison, Editor of "Markers: A Journal of the Association for Gravestone Studies."

"Forgotten Faces" contains well researched essays and moving portraits. I highly recommend this beautiful and unique book." – Laura Lent, Adult Collections Coordinator, San Francisco Public Library, Main Branch
