Vegans Double During Diamond Jubilee

The number of people leading a vegan lifestyle is estimated to have doubled * in the UK, as Vegan Society announces The Diamond Jubilee Award Winners. Winners include ‘Supersize Me the movie for best campaign/project and Redwoods super melting vegan cheese.

(PRWEB) November 14, 2004 -- The Vegan Society Diamond Jubilee Ball was a truly sparkling event, a worthy launch party to herald a new dawn of veganism.

Sponsors included Veggiemaster, Redwoods, Healthy and essential/VegOmegas, Tisserand, and Coop celebrating with 170 people who supported, toasted, cheered, dipped their bits in the chocolate fountain and then danced until midnight.

The Winners of The Vegan Society Diamond Jubilee Awards:
Best Fairly Traded Product – for products kinder to people.
Winner - COCOA TREE
Having personally selected their chocolate from Venezuela and paid more than a fair price for it Joss and Aubrey then make the most delicious vegan things from it.

Vegan Achievement Award – for people making a difference.
Winner - FIONA OAKES
How she achieves all she does on so little sleep is a biological mystery. Up at 3 am every morning to feed hundreds of rescued animals she then sets of to work as a firefighter where her colleagues are all in awe of her. She then somehow manages time to find time to train to win various marathons (often beating the men) and proving vegan prowess internationally by earning herself a top placement in next years London marathon.
