Independent Feature Film "What Goes Around" Directed by McClinton Stanley and Executive Produced by Deborah Pointer Sells Out on Opening Night

"What Goes Around", an independent feature film directed by McClinton Stanley and executive produced by Deborah Pointer sold out during its debut at the New York Independent Film Festival on Friday, November 12, 2004. Amidst an audience sitting and standing, an inter-generational audience celebrated the film debut of director, McClinton Stanley and executive producer, Deborah Pointer. An additional showing has been added to the roster for Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 8:00 p.m.

(PRWEB) November 17, 2004 -- In the cold and wet rain hundreds stood for over an hour waiting to see the debut of the independent feature film written and directed by MicClinton Karma Stanley and executive produced by Deborah Pointer, co-creator and co-executive producer of Def Poetry Jam, "What Goes Around".

"It was terrific, said Darrell Banks. The actress that played the crack head was so real. I can't imagine that she didn't overdose during the movie with all the drugs she did. She was unbelievable".

"The movie peeed", said Ronald Johnson. It was a modern day "Boys in the Hood" type movie. For anyone who has ever lived in the projects, they can truly identify. It was unbelievable! Ms. Pointer has outdone herself again as she did with Def Poetry Jam. She has the magic touch, she keeps it real."

The starring cast included Jilian Thomas as Raz, John Beckles as Keyo, Kira Jo Williams as Cynthia, Javier Corniell as Dizzy, Jennifer Pinto as Keisha and John Shaw as King Pin. Naurubi Selah, Raul Maldonado, Hector Lino, Albert Avedon and Joan J round out the cast.

Featured also are Def Poetry Jam poets "Kayo", Flowmentalz, Gemini, Butterfly Soul, Yolanda Wilkerson and Helena Lewis.
