New Websites English and Spanish Speaking Parents with Important Decision

One third of US families have a will, which means legal guardians have not been designated for literally tens of million of US children. New English and Spanish websites help parents make this critical decision easily, safely and inexpensively.

Coral Gables, FL (PRWEB) November 19, 2004 -- Your flight is about to take off. You close your eyes and say a little prayer. Sound familiar? It should. Many thoughts cross our minds as we lift off. One for many parents is: Who will take care of my kids if my flight doesn't make it?"

Unfortunately, only a small percentage of parents have planned for this possibility by designating their child's guardian," said website Founder Chris Bezick. That means the courts would decide the majority of many children's fate if they were orphaned."

As we approach Thanksgiving, the most traveled weekend of the year, two new websites, in English and Spanish, have been launched to help parents make this important decision.
They are Childguardianship.com and Guardiandelmenor.com. Each provides documents that legally nominate a guardian, tailored to the laws in each of the 50 states. When the application is completed online, the customer is sent an email with a link to a webpage containing the custom-designed, PDF documents. The customer opens the files, prints the documents, signs them and has them notarized.

In the event that a child is orphaned, the guardianship documents would be followed by the court to determine who would ultimately care for the children. Without such documents, a court will make this crucial decision, without parent input, and appoint a guardian that could be far different from whom the parents would have chosen to raise their children.

Guardiandelmenor.com provides Spanish instructions and certified Spanish translations for all English documents. The English version would be notarized and would be used by the court. The Spanish version is used for reference.

We thought it was especially important to create a Spanish version because more than one third of all babies born in this country are of Hispanic descent and it's very difficult to use a foreign language document in legal proceedings." Bezick said. Parents now have an immediate, private and cost effective method to help them make this important decision. The cost ranges between $7.50 and $10.00 per parent."

Traveling and parenting during the holidays can be stressful enough," he said. These websites can provide comfort for families, protection for children and allow parents to stress over the minor things, like not over-cooking the turkey."
