Chicago Homeless Veterans take Matters into their own hands and establish a way to re-enter the workforce, joining with the talents of artists and editorial cartoonists worldwide veterans seek to establish a sheltered workshop.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 22, 2004 -- Homeless and Disabled Veterans, displaced by recent cutbacks in VA assistance will sell T-Shirts designed by MSN Slate's Cagle Cartoon Artists to raise money for a promotional and retraining workshop. The shirts, on sale this month, will support the creation of the disabled veteran run sheltered workshop to be based in Chicago, Illinois.

Partnering with MSN Slate's Political Cartoon group, Cagle Cartoons, Veterans at Work is able to sell top quality and topical political and entertainment t-shirts to the public through the site: http://www.veteransatwork.us ...The shirts will have special appeal to anyone now active, previously associated with, or supportive of members of the military. Chicagoland Cubs fans will find a couple of shirts dedicated to their cause.

The Hanes, top quality t-shirts, will be custom produced for each buyer using new digital transfer technology known as sublimation. The shirts are UV resistant and made especially for this technology.

ALL proceeds will go to creating a workshop that will re-employ veterans eager to re-enter the workforce. Funds are needed for computers, presses, inks and other sublimation equipment.

The veterans are asking for a hand-up, not a hand-out to assist America's heroes. No donations will be accepted. The group hopes to procure contracts that will make it self-sustaining in the future--free of any government budget considerations.

Future plans for the group include creating all materials for an online store to be opened in early December by Cagle cartoons.

Veterans at work is a non-government owned enterprise.
