(PRWEB) November 23, 2004 -- nFocal Inc. a leading provider of product development acceleration services, today announced Internet Security Fundamentals," a new training course targeted to organizations developing products requiring secure Internet connections.

Internet Security Fundamentals" is a comprehensive one-day workshop that leads attendees through the architecture and design process for developing a secure Internet solution. The seminar covers the basics of secure Internet communication schemes, including the building blocks of encryption, authentication, and message integrity. Popular networking protocols such as SSL, IPSec, and others, are examined to understand how their use affects system architecture. The workshop combines class lecture with a series of in-class group discussions that serve to reinforce architectural issues.

After attending this workshop, attendees will have a common understanding of Internet security technologies and will be able to identify the design choices required to architect a secure communication solution. The development team will be able to understand the architectural implications of security design choices and make informed decisions between securing the transport mechanism or the data. The workshop is delivered at the clients facility, thus eliminating the need for attendees to travel and helping to keep maximum team productivity.

The course is taught by Steve Kapp, nFocals CTO and VP of Professional Services. Mr. Kapp is an industry recognized speaker, presenting at major Internet and embedded software conferences. He has worked on projects of all sizes, ranging from microcode to database and scripting languages.
