Class Action Reports, Inc. Announces the Hiring of a New Assistant Editor, Marketing Director, and Legal Assistant

Class Action Reports, Inc. hires a new Assistant Editor, Marketing Director, and Legal Assistant to implement changes to its 30-year-old legal journal, help launch an enhanced online service, and expand international coverage.

WASHINGTON, DC (PRWEB) November 29, 2004 -— Class Action Reports, Inc., a leading publisher of print and electronic class action news and analyses, today announced the hiring of Jennifer L. Schwartz as Assistant Editor, Kelly A. Best as Marketing Director, and Laura A. OReilley as Legal Assistant. All three new staff members will work with both Class Action Reports and Class Action Reports Online.

Jennifer L. Schwartz received an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Louis University and is a recent graduate of Tulane University Law School. At Tulane Ms. Schwartz served as Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Journal of Law & Sexuality and was a member of the Public Interest Law Foundation and International Law Society. In 2002, Ms. Schwartz studied abroad in Siena, Italy where she focused on international human rights issues under the professorship of United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and South African Supreme Court Justice Richard J. Goldstone. Before accepting the Assistant Editors position with Class Action Reports, Inc., Ms. Schwartz completed an externship with the Honorable Helen G. Berrigan, United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana. Ms. Schwartz is a member of the California Bar and currently is pursuing her LL.M degree in Law and Government at American University Washington College of Law. Ms. Schwartz will assist Editor-in-Chief, Stuart Logan, with the analyses and reporting of current class action decisions for publication in the print journal and the online service. She will oversee the preparation of annual court statistical reports and will manage the collection of data for special reports. Ms. Schwartz will be in charge of updating the subscriber-area content of Class Action Reports Online and will initiate a new partnership program for Class Action Reports, Inc.

Kelly A. Best is a graduate of Duke University, the Institute of Government at UNC-Chapel Hill, and the Robert Emmett McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy, Ms. Best accepted a position as an administrator and planner at a regional Council of Governments in North Carolina. Later, she provided small business consulting to a family business before returning to school to pursue her graduate degree in business. After receiving her MBA, Ms. Best stayed at Georgetown University and became the Assistant Director of Graduate Business Admissions and Services. In 2001, Ms. Best was hired by Beverly C. Moore, Jr., a principal partner at Moore & Brown and editor/publisher of Class Action Reports. She served as Project Manager for a large multi-party case that Moore & Brown was litigating at the time. With the closing of the law firm, Ms. Best was asked to join Class Action Reports, Inc. as the publishing companys Marketing Director. Ms. Best will implement a product-wide marketing program that will stress the continued excellence of the print journal while educating the U.S. and international legal community to the new and enhanced services available at Class Action Reports Online. Ms. Best will be responsible for marketing and advertising as well as the development of conferences and online educational opportunities.

Laura A. OReilley is a recent graduate of American University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and a concentration in U.S. Foreign Policy. Ms. OReilley interned with the Environmental Exchange Division of the Institute of International Education while in school at American University. She also served as a mentor for the School of International Service and spent several summers working with autistic children, as a supervising lifeguard, and as an assistant director/swim instructor. As Legal Assistant, Ms. OReilley will provide paralegal research for the editorial staff and act as liaison to the federal and state courts. She will work on special projects and reports and will share the administrative responsibilities of Class Action Reports Online. Ms. OReilley is charged with the development and implementation of a new document retrieval process that will catalogue and preserve the over 30 years of class action documents archived at Class Action Reports, Inc.
