Singer, songwriter Liz Zorn releases debut album
(PRWEB) December 6, 2004 -- After two years in project phase, the self produced debut album by Liz Zorn is now here. The genre' crossing eleven track cd contains an eclectic mix of folk/blues and adult alternative music.
An accomplished visual artist and poet, with biographies listed in both Who's Who In America and Who's Who of American Women, Liz Zorn has shown once again that the word artist carries with it no boundaries.
With the success of early releases to internet radio, of songs like Giddy Up Baby and Fly Away, The Truth About Me is proving to be a valiant first effort for this up and coming singer/songwriter.
With similarities to contemporaries like Lucinda Williams, Patty Griffin and Lori McKenna, it is easy to see why the female songwriter has become a dynamic force in American music today. Zorns writing is solid, and her subject matter varied. From the light blusie hit the road lyrics of Giddy Up Baby, to the tragic spousal abuse language of Knife To Bone.
All of the songs on the cd were written and performed by Zorn. including all of the guitar work, and recording. Relying on her small body Martin Acoustic and Liberty Resonator, she meticulously worked in layers of guitar and vocals; more elaborately so on some songs and less on others. Liz Zorn is a chameleon, giving each song a unique voice, and creating a vocal arrangement to meet the mood and language of the piece.
Liz Zorn has quietly walked onto the scene, and in one enormous sweep, planted herself firmly in the rich soil of Americana, and come out smelling like an old fashioned rose with a hauntingly electrifying contemporary edge.
