Russian-born Singer/Songwriter Releases Music CD in Oklahoma

Russian-born singer/songwriter Paulina Thompson will perform at her upcoming CD release Event at Border's book store in Norman, OK to benefit Transition House in this Holiday season of giving.

Norman, OK (PRWEB) December 6, 2004 -- Paulina was born and raised in Saratov, Russia, this talented aspiring singer/songwriter and pianist has called Oklahoma her home for the past eight years. An upcoming Dec 11th event at Border's book store in Norman, OK will be dedicated to the release of her long-awaited second CD, featuring her original material. In this season of giving it is only fitting that a portion of the proceeds will benefit Transition House of Norman, a non-profit organization that helps mentally ill patients in their transition to every day life challenges.
Paulina will also perform at the Transition House annual Christmas Show.

Growing up in Communist Russia, Paulina's spirited heart had always aspired to be free to dream. A full-time student at an academy of music, this young Russian musician found her calling in creating beautiful music. As fate would have it, her involvement with Russian-American projects at the university, where she was working toward her Bachelor's degree in English and Literature, and a part-time job as interpreter for an American businessman have played a part in her moving to the United States in early 1997, and finally getting a chance to pursue a full-time career in the music industry.

Her ample natural talent, smooth rich vocals, gentle way of playing the piano, and tranquil, captivating original songs have quickly earned Paulina recognition in the local Oklahoma City music community. She went on to win a number of awards for her work as well as a number of contests. EIA Most Promising Star of Tomorrow and Female Vocalist/Writer of the Year are some of the prestigious titles she earned. Paulina has been featured in the media, and on the cover of Oklahoma Music magazine. She's currently recording with ArroStar Records.

Most people who hear Paulina perform remain a fan of her own unique music style that is Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, classical piano with jazzy undertones, and an echo of her native heritage all rolled into one. The touching truthfulness of her lyrics will not leave you indifferent.

Having captured the hearts of live music fans all over Oklahoma City while performing at clubs, festivals, fine restaurants and private events, Paulina does not stop at the generous gift of her talent. She is closely involved with charity work and non-profit organizations of the community. A large portion of the proceeds from her Dec 11th CD release Event will benefit Transition House of Norman. Paulina has been working with this non-profit organization for about a year.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to catch an unforgettable performance of this talented Russian-born musician Paulina Thompson, and share a bit of yourself by donating to Transition House of Norman this Holiday season of giving.
