Lieutenant Nelson Andreu (retired) dedicated nearly his entire police career with the Miami Police Department to homicide and death-investigation cases. During his nearly 23-year tenure with Miami P.D., Lt. Andreu spent over 21 of those years in the Homicide Unit

(PRWEB) December 1, 2004 -- Lieutenant Nelson Andreu (retired) dedicated nearly his entire police career with the Miami Police Department to homicide and death-investigation cases. During his nearly 23-year tenure with Miami P.D., Lt. Andreu spent over 21 of those years in the Homicide Unit. He investigated thousands of death cases ranging from routine natural deaths, accidental deaths, industrial deaths, murders and suicides, to his working on five separate serial killer investigations. These culminated in 2002 with the conviction of Francisco Del Junco, a Miami serial killer who bludgeoned to death and set fire to four women in South Florida.

Since his retirement in 2002, Lt. Andreu has formed an investigative, consulting and polygraph business in Miami (Deception Check), which offers both commercial and private investigations and polygraph examinations. He has taught death-related seminars at several local and state conferences; including Florida International University, Miami-Dade Community Colleges Criminal Justice Center, Miami Police Departments Training Bureau, and the Florida Writers Association. Lt. Andreu was recognized as Miami P.D.s most outstanding officer on numerous occasions, as well as the most outstanding officer in the entire county several other times. Lt. Andreu was given the eulogistic title of Dean” of the Miami Police Departments Homicide Unit. During his time in the Homicide Unit with Miami P.D., Lt. Andreu not only commanded the Homicide Unit at times, but was also the senior officer and acting Commander in the entire Investigative Division at the Miami Police Department, a division that encompassed nearly 100 Detectives and support personnel.

During Lt. Andreus last 10 years in the Homicide Unit, he was in charge of the Cold Case Squad,” investigating hundreds of Miamis open murder cases dating back to the 1940s. Lt. Andreu and the investigators under his command solved dozens of previously open murder cases, bringing closure to family members who for years had anguished with unanswered questions and dwindling hope for cases involving their loved ones ever being solved. Additionally, he has appeared on several local, national and international television programs answering questions about murder, providing insight, commentary and analysis with respect to all aspects of death-related investigations, as well as polygraph-related issues.

Lt. Andreu now offers his decades of investigative experience into homicide and death-related cases to individuals, businesses and media outlets with questions and concerns dealing with murder and serial and mass murderers, as well as with all facets of death investigation. Lt. Andreus unprecedented knowledge and experience in these fields make him the inevitable choice for those seeking answers, commentary and professional opinions about the complex topic of murder investigation.

Lt. Andreu speaks perfect Spanish and can offer his expertise, commentary and opinions in both English and Spanish to those who require his services. Additionally, Lt. Andreus novel, entitled DEAD RED” and about a Miami Homicide Detective working a series of murders in the Magic City, has recently been released. His novel is available on-line at DeadRedNovel.com, Barnes and Noble or on Amazon.com.

Lt. Andreu has written an article entitled Serial Killers, A Homicide Detectives Take,” which was published in the most recent Journal of the American Polygraph Association and which will soon be reprinted in a prominent National Police magazine. This nearly 6000-word article outlines the inner thoughts, mindset and actions of serial killers through the eyes of one of the nations most experienced homicide sleuths.

Lt. Andreu can be reached at the below-listed addresses and telephone numbers for questions, interviews and consultation.
