Mediantis AG takes over ChooseBooks.com. ZVAB will offer many more English titles and ChooseBooks will integrate millions of German books

(PRWEB) December 1, 2004 -- The holding company of the ZVAB - German online antiquarian book selling site, mediantis AG, is taking over the assets and operations of ChooseIt LLC -a US online provider of Antiquarian, Used and Rare books. Under the domain of ChooseBooks.com, ChooseIt has been running its business for about two years from Freeville, New York. With over 1,700 booksellers and over 9 million books ChooseIt belongs to one of the five biggest book suppliers in the world. With this move mediantis AG is extending the ZVAB - Zentrales Verzeichnis Antiquarischer Bücher or Central Directory of Antiquarian Books (www.zvab.com) - into the Anglo-American market. The almost exclusively English stock of ChooseBooks.com will supplement the current range of over 10 million, predominantly German titles, listed on the ZVAB.

Mediantis AG will take over the business assets of ChooseIt (including online domains, property rights, technical infrastructure and customer relations). The two parties involved have been bound to terms of confidentiality on the price issue, however, it is known that it remains in the lower six-figure US Dollar range.

The technical integration of the two platforms will be arranged in the next few months. Once finished, American and English customers will gain easy access to the entire ZVAB inventory via www.choosebooks.com. At the same time, ZVAB's customers and sellers based in German speaking countries will benefit by greater inventory and more extensive international array of consumers that the amalgamation of the two platforms will bring.

The ZVAB business profile
The ZVAB is the largest online database of antiquarian items in the German speaking area. At www.zvab.com customers can find over 10 million items from over 1,600 Antiquarian booksellers based in 21 countries world wide. The majority of articles on offer are books, however, graphics, maps, music and magazines are also included.
