Author Rainey Moon has forged a sponsorship with Safe Harbor through the proceeds of the sales of her new release Whispered Words” scheduled for release December 1, 2004.
(PRWEB) December 1, 2004 -- Safe Harbor, a haven for individuals and families working to break the cycle of domestic abuse, located in Virginia will benefit from each book signed by Moon at her book signings. On hand will also be a list and a drop box for items needed by the shelter for the women during the Christmas Holidays and beyond.
Christmas is the time for giving, a time of outreach to those less fortunate than ourselves. Women who are in shelters for the holidays are there because they usually have no where else to turn and though I may not know them I know their struggles.” Said Moon. I can only hope to be able to make one woman, one family smile in spite of the hardship they are going through.”
Safe Harbor is a comprehensive domestic violence program offering the following services to men, women and children in the metro Richmond area. A 24-hour domestic violence hotline to provide support, safety planning and crisis intervention services, a confidentially located shelter for women and children seeking safety, individual counseling for any victim of domestic violence child or adult, support groups for both women and children, court advocacy for anyone seeking a protective order, education programs targeted to professional organizations as well as a variety of children and adult groups.

Each book sold at the signings will give 10 percent towards the shelter and it doesnt stop there. She also looks towards adding more shelters and organizations to the list in an effort to help women in other localities.
Women need to know they have a place to go, a place that is safe from danger and a place that wont turn their back on them should they not have enough money or they wish to bring their children.” Said Moon.
