The results of a recent American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) survey of family physicians found Practice Partner Patient Records to be the most commonly implemented electronic health record (EHR) system.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) December 6, 2004 -- The results of a recent American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) survey of family physicians found Practice Partner Patient Records to be the most commonly implemented electronic health record (EHR) system. When asked which system they currently used, survey respondents named Practice Partner Patient Records from Physician Micro Systems, Inc. (PMSI) more than any other system.

The survey of 21 AAFP state chapters also points to an increased physician interest in EHR technology. More than half of the family physicians responding to the survey said that they currently use an EHR or plan to within the next year. Of those respondents that have implemented an EHR, 73 percent said their EHR system improved the health of their patients by reducing prescription errors and improving patient communication.

The results of this survey reflect PMSIs 17 years of experience with helping family physicians successfully implement and use electronic health records and practice management software in their practices," said Dr. Andrew Ury, M.D., founder and president of PMSI. We are also encouraged that more and more physicians are recognizing the potential of EHR systems to improve quality of patient care."
